Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Backpack

We hit our 100th backpacking mile of the summer this weekend around Mt. Jefferson.

For the second time this month, we were “trail angels” to a Pacific Crest Trail couple of thru hikers.  We packed fresh blueberries from the Saturday Farmers Market for them.  “Wolverine” and “Tiny Steps” were quite happy with fresh fruit.

Ah, yes, 2.7 miles of non-maintained trail.  We did fine until about 1/2 mile from the end when we encountered the river and lost the trail.  Luckily, my husband has an uncanny ability at directions and we were able to bush whack for about 30 minutes and found a trail that led us to our car.
