Yocum Ridge

We are at 85 backpacked miles this summer.  We spent Saturday night on Yocum Ridge in a little spot at the top of a ridge.  The hike started at Ramona Falls Trail Head (2480′) and climbed to an outrageous view of Mt. Hood (6150′).

Here are some of the glaciers that fascinate me.

Frost on patches in the morning.

This is looking over from Yocum Ridge towards Mt. Jefferson.  You can see Split Rock (Kevin was playing on top of it last week) in Paradise Park.

Fresh blueberries from the Farmer’s Market made their way up with us.  The remaining berries were given to a PCT thru-hiker who was delighted.

How many more miles for your season?

One more 15 mile trek and then we’ll be at 100 miles, but we’ll probably squeeze in another after that! The fall colors can be so nice in the mountains.
