Good Luck “Flora and Fauna Fantastical”

The Oregon Garden’s “Stitches in Bloom” Quilt Show has a challenge using Valori Wells’ fabric titled “Wrenly”.    My quilt is on its way with the following comment, “Knowing I wanted to use the fabric in traditional patchwork around the border and flowers inside, a pattern by Tonye Belinda Philips in a magazine and one of Sue Spargo’s birds fit the bill. ”

Looking at http://www.tonyebelindaphillips.com  today, it appears that the Stitchin’ Post, Sue Spargo and Tonye collaborate together on projects.  The pattern I tweeked from was in American Patchwork & Quilting’s Oct. 2010 issue.

My quilt is 28″ x 24″ and our guild president thought up the name.  Thank you, Jean, because I love the fun and fantastic name!

Out of a yard of the challenge fabric, only scraps are left and they were used on the back along with a strip of the selvage.

Information on the Jan. 27 & 28 show can be found at http://oregongardenstitchesinbloom.blogspot.com/
