Double Nine Patch by Three

Three of us are working together to make a Double Nine Patch quilt seen in Fons and Porter’s July/Aug 2011 edition.

Here is my contribution to the three quilts.  Each one of us made 532 units (dark on outsides/light in center) and 266 units (light on outsides/dark in center.  They were divided into three piles and will be distributed.  Now, we’ll each assemble our nine-patch units and then the quilt.  I am very happy to be a part of this.  Here are two of the piles that will go to Pam and Trenna.  In the end, each of us will have a nearly queen size quilt.

How long did it take you to cut and assemble the 800 units? I always love seeing the pieces become parts become quilts…

I agreed to the project on Oct. 28th, but didn’t get started until early this week.

Love this idea and know the quilts will be even more special because all three of you are sharing.
