Snow Backpacking in July ???

We hiked Burnt Lake to ZigZag Peak and down past Cast Lake (13 miles).  We spent the night on the ridge where a fire lookout once was located.  It was cloudy all yesterday with a bit of drizzle at times, but this morning we woke to a lovely bottom view of Mt. Hood.  We finished the hike just before a big storm began.  Lucky us!

What do your camping meals consist of?

Dinner was cous cous with chicken, carrots, onions and fresh from my garden zucchini; hot chocolate and those individual cheap 200 calorie pies. Breakfast was fresh eggs from my friend, sausage, potatoes, mushrooms, onions and red peppers with coffee. Lunch is usually a foil pack of tuna with mayo & relish, crackers and cheese.

You need the hike to work all that off!!
