Home again…

What a wonderful trip to the East Coast with my son and his friend.  We visited family, Washington DC, hiked 32 miles on the Appalachian Trail, went to Harper’s Ferry, the Naval Academy, the Boy Scouts National Jamboree, Gettysburg, Kings Dominion (well, the boys and cousins), The Appalachian Trail Museum (opened just this past June), and stayed busy the entire time.  When asked the highlight of the trip, my son’s friend said the backpacking trip.  My niece loved it so much, she wants to hike all 2,000+ miles.  Even Andrew is contemplating the idea.

Some of the trail we hiked…

Andrew was presented his scrapbook and box for graduation ~~ tradition in our family.  Gotta love those boy scout socks?

and some fresh crabs caught and cooked by my brother’s wife and family.
