Happy 4th of July

Yesterday was the Cat Walk 5k run and walk.  Kevin and I both ran, but he led the race for the first mile and finished fifth overall with a time of 19:01 (6:07 per mile pace).  Pretty good for a 52 year old!

The parade was 2 hours and 5 minutes long.  All four high school bands played along with a great diversity of “stuff”:  Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, churches, campaigns, horses, fire trucks, India groups, Asian groups, Ronald McDonald, police, farm equipment, blueberry farms, Knights of Columbus, Rosarians, along with a bunch more I can’t remember.

Then, Kevin and I headed out for a backpack on the Pacific Crest Trail from Lolo Pass heading north.  We found a great campsite among a bunch of snow fields.  The wild flowers are spectacular now.

This is the most of Mt. Hood we saw.
