Dia de los muertos

Happy 22nd  Birthday, sweet Sarah!

Poor girl was born on All Soul’s Day.  It is a day when we Catholics remember those that have gone before us.    My daughter doesn’t particularly like the bright colors of Mexico, but there are some really fun fabrics, so I try to make her something with the dia de los muertos line.  This year it’s an apron.  I also go to the local market and get pan de muerto (bread of the dead). 

And even though she’s married, I’ll make her a chocolate cake with chocolate icing.  We love the recipe that Hershey put out years ago.
