Yes, that’s my husband: the winner of the 50 – 54 year old 800 meters. He ran a 2:22 today UNINJURED ~~ which is a big deal! He’s in lane 2.

At our church auction, a “Brew Ha Ha” is auctioned off. Comedy Sportz donates a comedy night, several home brewers provide beer and others make a fabulous dinner and dessert. Tonight’s the night and my husband created a beer label from a picture by Joys of Life Photography. This is one of our priests all decked out at the auction. Kevin photo shopped it and then water colored the print.

Today, my son, a US Marine turns 20. Happy Birthday Charles!

Eleven of us and a dog climbed Mt. Defiance yesterday. It took 7.5 hours including lunch and a few breaks. The summit is 4935′ and the round trip is 11+ miles. We leave in a week for Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

On Wednesday evenings from June – August, we visit a local migrant camp to provide fellowship and life’s necessities. Last night in my lovely 1990 Chevy “Beauville” van, we brought 1800 lbs. of food to 45 rooms/cabins.

Truly, it’s rice in the beer boxes, but it sure looks like a party?

This 50″ square quilt is another combined effort. My mom embroidered six squares and sent them to me. I put them together, quilted and bound the piece and will send it back to her in the next few days.

I did another small art journal quilt for a home school graduate who will leave in a few days for West Point.

Before the grad party, we worked a few hours pulling more scotch broom at Hagg Lake for another Scout’s Eagle Project. The tools were way cool. We all got pretty gunked up with mud.
Our scoutmaster lost 30 lbs. and I was practically running to keep up with the five ahead of me at Timothy Lake, near Mt. Hood, Saturday. We hiked 13 miles with full backpacks and then went back to visit another crew that stopped at mile 11 to spend the night.

I am SO NOT into fish heads and guts, but was able to eat some of the fish the guys back at camp caught, cleaned and cooked.

We worked on an Eagle project at Hagg Lake pulling Scotch Broom with cool tools!

Since it’s been hot, we left early and were on the Kings Mountain trail by 7:17am. It was a quick 5 mile round trip, including 2800′ elevation climb.
